📋 Delete Your Account

We respect your right to control your personal data. You can delete your Snap Receipt account at any time. The fastest way is from inside the app; an email option is available as a fallback.

📱 Option 1 — Delete From the App (Recommended)

1. Open the app and sign in Make sure you are signed in to the account you want to delete.
2. Go to Settings → Delete Account Review the on-screen acknowledgement of what will be removed and confirm.
3. Your deletion is scheduled Your account is scheduled for permanent deletion in 14 days. During this cooling-off period your account is retained but inaccessible from the app.

📬 Option 2 — Email Request

If you cannot access the app (for example, you have lost your device), email our privacy team and we will process the deletion on your behalf.

Once we receive your email, our team will:

1. Verify your identity We will confirm you are the legitimate owner of the account, typically by matching the registered email address or phone number.
2. Review active subscriptions Please cancel any active subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings before requesting deletion to avoid being charged.
3. Schedule the deletion After verification, we trigger the same 14-day deletion process as Option 1. We will notify you by email once the data has been permanently purged.

📦 What Data Gets Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data will be permanently removed:

• Account information (email, phone number, display name, profile photo)
• All uploaded receipt images
• Extracted expense and transaction data
• Budget configurations and alerts
• Detected subscriptions
• Shopping lists
• Activity history and notification preferences
• Session data and authentication tokens

Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you may be retained for statistical and product improvement purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.

⚠️ Important Notes

• After the 14-day cooling-off period elapses, account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Once the automated purge runs, your data cannot be recovered.
• You can cancel a scheduled deletion at any time during the 14-day window by signing back in to the app.
• Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account or cancel your subscription.
• Please cancel any active subscriptions through your app store before the cooling-off period ends to avoid being charged after your account is removed.
• If you are part of any shared accounts, your access will be removed. Other members' data will not be affected.
